Business Licensing

The City of St. Albert's Business License Bylaw 43/2000 requires businesses to hold a valid Business Licence when conducting business within the boundaries of the City of St. Albert. A business is defined under Business Licence Bylaw 43/2000 as any business, occupation, activity, amusement, entertainment, trade employment, profession or calling and the provision of a service of any kind that is conducted for the purpose of earning income, whether or not it is conducted for the purpose of earning a profit.

Please note that, depending on the licence type you require, you may need to provide the City with supplementary documentation such as home owner's authorizations, vulnerable sector checks, vehicle inspection and registration details, copies of drivers' licences, and commercial insurance information to complete your registration.

Licences expire on December 31 and must be renewed annually.
